A combination of cultural influences...Maori and Aboriginal. I found the process of hours filling in space with dots meditative and contemplative...lots of thoughts running through my head during the creative hours spent in my artspace at Alkimos Beach Perth WA during lockdown. These two pieces were created initially with a dirty pour then given more focus and interest with the addition of dotting which evolved organically as I worked...no preconceived ideas about color choice, pattern or design...just going with the flow much like being in lockdown...picture (R) however reflects the unconscious addition of an underlying black shadow creeping across the landscape...a reflection of the depression slowly invading the country in all areas of society...mental wellbeing was being tested to the max...
